Vegetable diet and nutrition

Nowadays, “vegetable diet” health preservation is becoming an emerging kind of attitude towards life. The “2018 China Dining Table Consumption Trends Report” shows that consumption of vegetables and fruits grow rapidly, an indication of the prevalence of the “vegetable diet” trend although it is inseparable from the science popularization on balanced diet.

“Vegetable diet” means eating vegetables, fruits and beans more and eating meats less, instead of refraining from eating meats. This idea is different from “vegetarianism”, although it originated from “plant-based diet” In other words, the right way to do should be taking in the beneficial portion of animal foods moderately while absorbing high-quality nutrients from vegetables, cereals, beans and fruits.

The “vegetable diet” way of eating we advocate is appropriately increasing the percentages of foods like vegetables, fruits and beans, reducing the meat intake and reducing the ratios of livestock meats to the limit of total quantity on the basis of abiding by “The Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2022)”, subject to balanced diet.
